Wet cleaning
Wet Cleaning is a professional
textile care technology that enables cleaning of all kind of clothes in water,
including sensitive garment like wool or silk. This environment friendly method
replaces the traditional dry-cleaning, based on solvents that are harmful and
toxic. Wet Cleaning uses water and unique, biodegradable cleaning agents,
computer-controlled washing and drying machines and ensures Dry Clean Only
labeled items can also be cleaned.
Our machines are of the new and innovative AquaTouch Genius series. This new generation of machines can both wash and wetclean garments using an energy-saving and gentle method – we return your clothes quickly, clean and treated the most environment friendly way.
Dry cleaning means your garment is cleaned not in water, but in some kind of organic solvent. Traditional dry cleaning uses a solvent called Perchloretilene, that is strongly toxic, corrosive and carcinogen, dangerous to health. It can cause breathing difficulties, headaches, nervous system damage, and memory loss. Acknowledging the dangers in association with this solvent, many western or eastern authorities forbid the usage of PERC dry cleaning machines in residential areas. The Hungarian Authorities did not harmonize the legislations yet, but we already apply the technology that is the future-proof alternative, the wet cleaning.
We treat all garments that is washable and above that
- sensitive items like hand-woven or laced clothes,
- glued or sewn pearls, flitters or decorative stones,
- silk, hemp, linen, viscose or faux-silk,
- suits and costumes, trousers, skirts and jackets,
- wool and cashmere,
- curtains,
- wedding dress (except heavy silk items),
- coats, jackets, feather lining,
- any kind of shirts, blouses,
- dresses, business or evening dresses,
- textile sportshoes, sneakers,
- faux leather and leather decoration.
What are the advantages of wet cleaning?
- Fresh scent: cleaning in water gives a good, fresh scent to the garment – while traditional dry cleaning will not eliminate odours, sweat, oil, food etc. odours remain.
- No chemicals residue: garments dry cleaned typically have a pungent smell of chemicals, that evaporating pollute the air of our home. With wet cleaning there are no chemical smells, only nice and fresh scent.
- Vivid colours: wet cleaning preserves the colours of the garment – as in contrary to items often dry cleaned experience greying or yellowing.
- Strong stain removal: wet cleaning is perfect for all kind of stains that are water-soluable. As dry cleaning is solvent based, it has a lower stain removal effect.
- Gentle processing: our computer-controlled professional machines are gentle to the garment. More so than washing at home or drycleaning. Movements of the drum are limited by the type of textile, shorter and therefore more gentle to even wool and silk.
- Kids clothing: due to the usage of solvents, it is a professional standard not to use dry cleaning method for any children garment! Wet cleaning provides hygienic cleaning in a gentle way, even for occassional wear as well.
- Biodegradable chemicals of wet cleaning are eco-friendly and mean no harm to the environment, in contrary to the toxic chemicals of dry cleaning that endanger natural waters and soil.
- Energy efficient cleaning method: consumes less water and energy than domestic washing or dry cleaning.
How does Wet Cleaning work?
- Garment is sorted by colour, material, type and degree of soiling. We thoroughly check its state before processing, eg. look for stains, wear and tear signs. In case of stains, we use spot treatment before cleaning. For this we use the so-called spotting table with steam, compressed air and vacuum to treat stains, prevent spreading. This way minimal energy is used, is gentle to the textile fabric and requires less mechanic during washing.
- Industrial washers can be programmed according to the textile and garment needs – much more precisely than domestic washers. The computer controlled processes specify the water levels, temperature, rotation speed and direction and further parameters during pre-wash, wash and rinse. The result? Way lower energy and water usage, exactly the treatment as that specific garment needs, all in a short processing time.
- Dosing of chemicals is also automated! No pouring any quantities by hand, but dosing automatically less than a small spoon at a time. Always as needed by the garment, by the fabric, colour or soils. No one-fits-all chemicals, only what is truely needed. Like eg. we use special additive when washing wool so that the fibre does not swallow and start felting. Gentle mechanical action, soft watering like a rain, application of dirt removing chemicals together achieve a gentle treatment of items before final rinse and conditioning. Yes, conditioning, because different result I want with soft silk and formal suits, right?
- Our dryers have built-in residual moisture sensors. That helps to have a cleaning cycle for exactly as long as needed, at the right temperature. At the end of the drying cycle we also use a so-called cooling phase to prevent shrinkage of garments.
- The final form, size and surface of each item is given through the so-called finishing process. During finishing by hand or by form finisher equipment, we use steam to dry, iron and fix the garments required shape and size, removing all wrinkles.
